WINTER TO SPRING LOOK!

Tuesday, February 22, 2022

OUTFIT DETAILS: CORDUROY BUTTON DOWN (SM) // BLACK DENIM (4) // NUDE BRAID     HEELS (6) // PURSE

Happy Wednesday friends!

It warmed up a little this week and it has me craving Spring! I'm not much of a summer girl but give me all the Fall and Spring weather!

Also, can you guys believe it's almost March! Which is my birthday month! I'm getting so close to thirty! lol My best friend is also flying down and I am so excited.
--

I briefly shared this corduroy button down on my IG, but it definitely needed a permanent space on my blog! It does run a tad bit big but I actually like it. So I purchased my true size. You can style this so many ways and it's perfect to carry into Spring. I can see myself wearing it with some denim shorts and strappy sandals for Summer. One of my main rules when I shop is that I need to at least come up with 3 ways to style it before I purchase it.

I am slowly getting into Abercrombie jeans! This black pair is one of my favorites! I'm wearing a 27 short. I have tried the extra short but believe it or not they're too short for my liking lol

Okay I'm almost positive you guys have seen these shoes all over Instagram! Number one they're so comfy and number two they go with everything! They also come in a white/bone color! Target may not be killing the clothing game but they are the shoe game!
---

That wraps up todays outfit post! I hope you guys enjoyed it! Thank you for continuing to support my blog!

WHAT'S IN MY CLOSET FROM: GIDDY UP GLAMOUR BOUTIQUE

Tuesday, February 15, 2022

OUTFIT DETAILS: LEOPARD CARDIGAN (SM) // HOWDY TSHIRT (M) // GOLDEN HOUR TSHIRT (M) // LEOPARD DENIM JACKET (SM) // WINE MIXER CHAMBRAY DRESS (SM) // WALKING BY SIDE HEELED BOOTIES (6)

Happy Wednesday friends!

I wanted to start this new series on my blog where I take pieces from my closet that are from a certain store and share them with you guys! These are pieces that I obviously own so idk I thought this would be fun lol

I use to rarely do any boutique shopping because I personally thought it was SO overpriced, don't get me wrong some items are but I've learned a thing here and there about shopping at boutiques.

Of course, I usually try to wait for items to go on sale before I purchase them. I also try my best to buy pieces that will last me for a long time, pieces that aren't just trendy if that makes sense. Majority of the time if we have a special dinner or some special event coming up, I will get my outfit from a boutique because, again, I personally feel that the chances of two women showing up in the same outfit are rare. I find that a lot of times boutiques have unique items.

One of my favorite boutiques is Giddy Up Glamour ! They have soo many gorgeous pieces! They have a location in Huntsville and College Station, I normally shop at the CS location. The girls there are super sweet and so helpful. They also tend to have really good sales throughout the year.

My favorite item from them that I own is definitely this leopard denim jacket! I received so many compliments on it. It's so versatile and closet staple.

Also, this chambray dress is another favorite! Again, an item that you can wear all year round and style so many different ways.

And lastly, I love the variety of t-shirts they carry! I mean they seriously have a huge selection!

That wraps up today's post! I hope you enjoyed!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY + 5 I'VE LEARNED IN MY SEVEN YEARS OF MARRIAGE

Monday, February 14, 2022

Happy Valentine's Day friends!

And of course happy Monday!

In honor of Valentine's Day, I wanted to share a love/marriage post!

So little background on us...we met July 2014. Can you guess how? Yup he slid into my dm's! LOL So romantic I know!  We dated for about 2.5 months before I
got pregnant with our little blessing, Julian. And we got married December 20,2014, and Julian made his grand entrance June 20,2015. If you're keeping up with the math than you figured out that we only knew each other for 5 months, and boom! Pregnant and married! I guess when you know, you know.

I personally feel like that it takes more than 5 months to know a person and truly know if they're your soulmate. When we got married, I didn't know what an angry Juan looked like, I didn't know what a hangry Juan looked like, and I didn't know what a sad Juan looked like. I got to know those versions of him already being married and with a child on the way, so it was tough y'all!

Because our marriage has been thru the ringer, I thought I would share some advice/tips I have learned along the way. Please take in mind, this is of course, my personal experience! No marriage is perfect, and no marriage is the same. And if you have any advice/tips you'd like to share please do! We could all use a little extra help! lol

1) MARRIAGE IS HARD! : I use to hear it all the time! But I just really thought those people were unhappy or they just didn't love their spouse. I love my husband but I'm here to tell you MARRIGE IS HARD! You literally learn something new, every.single.day in your marriage. And you essentially have to learn to love something new about your spouse.

2) YOU HAVE TO WORK AT IT EVERYDAY! :  I think this is something that I didn't hear a lot. Noone ever told me that it literally takes work. It's so easy to have an argument and get divorced, but that's not what marriage is. My husband and I have had plenty of arguments, divorced has been thrown out there, but neither of us were ever ready to give up. We worked at it every day. We learn from our mistakes. I have learned that my husband's love language is physical touch. So, I have made it a priority to always reassure him in that way. We do our best to be better for each other.

3) COMMUNICATION IS KEY! - An oldie but a goodie! These last couple of years of marriage have been the best. I think one day something just clicked in our brains lol and we started to communicate SO MUCH BETTER with each other. Looking back, I use to get upset when he said something that made me feel bad, I would just go about my day, I wouldn't text him all day, when he got home I would be distant with him because of that one thing he said. Did he think what he said affected me? No. Did he intentionally say that to make me feel bad? No. Did I create this whole scenario in my head? Yes. Did I convince myself that he didn't love me anymore? Yes. There's no way he could've known unless I communicate that with him. Now it's different. If he says something and I don't like it, I let him know. I'm a very sensitive person and he has learned that lol If I'm having a tough mental day, I let him know. If I'm just feeling irritated, I let him know. Your spouse cannot read your mind! Of course, it would make things easier but unfortunately God didn't give us superpowers.

4) GROWING UP TOGETHER: In my opinion, this is one of the most beautiful experiences in marriage. I have seen my husband become a loving and caring man. I have seen him become a father. I have seen him become a wonderful husband. We were 20 when we got married so we've been with each other majority of our adulthood. In the beginning, like I said it was tough, but we were both young, still a bit immature. And to see us now, it makes my heart so happy and just puts a huge smile on my face.

5) SUPPORT EACH OTHER: This one is also HUGE! Your spouse may have a crazy dream/goal in life, like turning a fashion blog into their business, and YOU have to be there to support them. Have you ever heard the quote or song, I can't really remember, but it goes something like "in a crowd of people, I always search for you". When your spouse has a goal in life that they want to achieve, they will 95% of the chance come to you first to get your input. In my personal life, I always feel idk, safe, when I want to do something and I know my husband supports it. Of course, he may not support every single thing I do BUT in marriage you also learn to compromise. This is also one of those things that has also clicked in our brains in the last 2 years.
--
And to wrap things up, I just want you know, marriage is beautiful. It's one of those things that continue to get better. Our first 5 years of marriage were so hard. I mean HARD! But like I said, it takes work and how much you're willing to fight for it. And when it gets to tough, pray.

I hope you enjoyed this post! Happy Valentine's Day....now let's go eat some chocolate!

HAIR CARE ROUTINE + FAVORITE HAIR PRODUCTS

Tuesday, February 8, 2022

Happy Wednesday friends!

I recently got my hair done, well more like retouched, so I thought what a perfect time to share an updated hair routine! In this post I'll be covering how I try to maintain my hair color and keep it as healthy as I can.

My hair is a blonde balayage with a money piece in the front, which is fancy for "the two pieces in front that frame my face". I've had my hair like this for about 9 months and I love it. I feel like it's not that high maintenance, I can typically go 10-12 weeks without getting it retouched. And I have just enough blonde that makes me happy lol

I've had blonde in my hair for over two years and you would think my hair is fried by now, but it's not THAT bad! I like to think that my routine has a lot to do with it.

I wash my hair 2-3 times a week during the Fall & Winter months. During the Spring & Summer, I typically have to wash it 4 times a week because I get so sweaty.

I've mentioned this before, but I use to suffer from dandruff, I started using this shampoo and it has been a game changer for my hair! It was recommended by one of my followers about a year ago and I've been using it ever since. I use either the Rehab or Borago hair mask once a week. It leaves my hair so soft and shiny, not an oily shiny but a good healthy shiny! I also use this purple mask every 2 weeks to brighten up my color.

Majority of the time I let my hair air dry, which in my opinion, is what has helped my hair the most! Once I step out of the shower, I wrap my hair in one of the these towels for about 5-10 minutes. I then apply some volumizing mousse , I love using this because it helps give my hair some volume without having to go in with a round brush and blow dryer!

I also always use a heat protectant, this is my favorite one, whether I'm blow drying or touching up my curls. The Le Duo, is my favorite hair tool! My hair just glides through the plates! And finally I always finish off with this shine spray, again adds a little extra shine and smells phenomenal! In between washes, I use this dry shampoo, it's a little pricey but so worth it!

And just a little FYI, some days my hair really should be washed lol but I get lazy, and on those days, aside from lots of dry shampoo, I'll put it in a pony, bun or braid. I've had shoulder length hair and almost to my butt hair and I can tell you that the less heat you use on it the better!

YOUNIQUE-MAKEUP FAVORITES

Monday, February 7, 2022

Happy Monday friends!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Julians been out of school since Thursday for snow days, I think he was kind of ready to go back today because he didn't make a fuss about getting up lol

On Saturday my husband and Julian went to a chili cook off while I went into College station to get my hair done, mama definitely needed a little pampering. It was a slow weekend but we enjoyed it!

---

Okay so, I am so excited to share today's post with y'all because I have been trying this makeup out for over 3 months now and I love it!

I was so hesitant on trying it out but I bit the bullet and went for it. I purchased a kit I think, two years ago and I honestly just put it to the side and then life happened and I completely forgot about it.

I signed up again which you can get the kit now for $35! If you're interested, you can sign up here

Okay so starting off,

STICK FOUNDATION (VELVET)- When I first tried this foundation, I used my beauty sponge, and I did not love it! Then I tried again, but with a kabuki brush and it was perfect! It doesn't feel heavy or cakey on the skin. If you're more on the oily side I would def use a mattifying primer with it.

TOUCH SKIN CONCEALER (VELOUR) - This is on the top of my favorites list! You only need a small amount of this, it's not drying, which is what I struggle the most with most concealers, and the coverage is amazing!

BEHOLD TRANSLUCENT SETTING POWDER- And this is my number one! If you have ever thought about trying products from Younique, this is the one! Hands down the best setting powder there is. It's not drying, doesn't leave a white cast and just makes your skin look airbrushed! I think this is a product that my ladies with mature skin would love!

PRESSED POWDER FOUNDATION (VELVET)- On the days where I don't want to wear foundation, I just use some concealer and use this pressed powder! The coverage is so good! And again, it doesn't feel heavy on the skin!

5 AT HOME VALENTINE'S DAY-DATE NIGHT IDEAS!

Wednesday, February 2, 2022

Happy Wednesday friends!

I hope you guys are having a great week so far!

Kicking of February with a Valentine's Day post of course!

My husband and I have never really been the couple to "celebrate" Valentine's Day. I mean sure, I get flowers, but we don't really do a fancy dinner or anything.

So, if you're anything like us I think you may enjoy this post! I'm going to be sharing some at home date night ideas! Of course, you can use these ideas anytime of the year too.

1) PLAY BOARD GAMES- This has become one of our favorite things to do! And it's great because we can include Julian in this! A few of our favorites are, Cards Against Humanity, Loteria, and Sorry (julians personal fave)

2) HAVE A MOVIE NIGHT! - You can never go wrong with a movie night! You can either go all out and buy some cute popcorn bowls like these or just keep it casual. I would share some of our favorite movies but literally anything Nicholas Sparks we love!

3) MAKE SOME YUMMY (ADULT) DRINKS! - This is one you can incorporate in either of the two things listed above! I personally love margaritas or anything semi sweet, and my husband is more of a whisky man. I cannot do whisky! Trust me, I've tried lol

4) TRY A NEW RECIPE TOGETHER- This may be the time to get your husband in the kitchen, look up some new recipes you would like to try and you both can get in there and whip something up. If you love Mexican food, check out this youtube channel! It is one of my absolute faves, I've tried several recipes from her and they have all turned out so good!

5) CREATE A PHOTOALBUM OR SCRAPBOOK- Okay, this is has been on my to-do list for the longest time! I'm talking about years here! lol This would be a perfect time to put together an album of your relationship. Something you both can do together and bond over. Look back at all the memories you have created together.

---

I hope you enjoyed this post, and hopefully I sparked some ideas!
