WHAT I LEARNED IN 2019

Monday, December 30, 2019

Happy Monday friends!

This is going to be somewhat of a lengthy so make sure to grab a snack!

Phew! 2019 was a heck of a year! Definitely one of the toughest too. I'm sure we've all seen the meme that says "2019 was like but did you die though", that's a pretty good summary of this year lol

There's 3 life lessons I learned this year, the hard way.

LIFE IS SHORT

I know you hear it all the time but it is true! In the last week I learned how fast things can change, how fast life can end, and just to enjoy and appreciate every second you have with the people you love. I'll admit I'm not afraid of dying but I'm afraid of losing someone I love. I know it's bound to happen, it's part of the circle of life but I truly don't know if I would be able to get through it. I love my family so much and the older I get the more I realize that my parents and my sister are God sent! I couldn't do this life without them. In my husbands job field the thought always crosses my mind because every single day he's putting his life on the line, it's a thought that I have fought hard to keep in the back of my mind. Love the people around you, appreciate & cherish them. This life is short, you only have one. Work for all the things your heart desires. Work towards your goals, even if they seem crazy to some people. Just remember that life REALLY IS SHORT.

CHOOSE YOUR FRIENDS WISELY

Okay listen! I'm not much of a friend maker okay! I have about 2 real friends and I'm totally fine with that! This year I guess I was feeling a bit wild lol and decided to you know put myself out there and give this whole "make new friends" thing a shot, nope never again! Maybe because im 25 but making friends at this age is idk weird? hard? I personally feel like I've bent over backwards for people and that definitely back fired so there's that. I'm not saying i'm not welcoming new friendships into my life anymore but I'm choosing my "circle" wisely.

TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF

I will be talking more in depth about this "topic" in another post but I'm just going to briefly touch on it. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF! For the past few years I always felt like I had to fight this depression on my own, that I would be weak if I reached out for help. That I would be considered one of "those" people for taking medication. When I started my fitness journey about 2 years ago, I noticed a HUGE change. Working out really saved my life. I felt great for the next year or so but I slowly began to fall. I'd have days where I picked myself back up and fought through it, but there came a point where I was so close to losing "this" battle. One thing led to another and I finally reached out for professional help. By far the best decision I've ever made. It wasn't easy. BUT my son needs me, my husband needs me, and of course my family does too.

I know life can get tough, trust me I know, but you have to take care of yourself. I live by this quote, "you can not pour from an empty cup", and girl you just can't! Make time for yourself, even if that means waking up and hour before your kids. Take that hour and have some "me" time, get ready for the day, put on a killer outfit, drink your morning coffee in peace, I mean whatever makes you happy, do it! Start the day off by taking care of yourself! It's something that I'm slowly learning to do but when I do it, my household runs so smoothly, the day runs smoothly I mean it just makes me feel so dang good!

-------

I guess you can say "career" wise 2019 wasn't all that bad! I was given great opportunities and overall I'm just grateful for them. Of course I wouldn't be given these opportunities without your support so THANK YOU! Thank you for allowing me into your lives, thank you for supporting my blog! Thank you for shopping through my links and just a big huge THANK YOU! I can't wait to see what 2020 has in store for me!

2019 was a tough year. Life was tough, if it wasn't for my sister and my husband I wouldn't be here, writing this post right now. But here I am, and I am so thankful! I'm thankful I made through this year.

Here is to 2020! May God bless us all and may you stay motivated & achieve all your dreams & goals!

I hope you all have a blessed & happy day!

See you next year!

Thank you to Rue 21 for collaborating on this post

Happy Friday friends!

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas!

This week flew by! And let's not talk about the year! Can't believe 2020 is right around the corner. I don't know about anyone else but personally 2019 was not the best year. Career wise it was great!

I am about to head to the gym and sweat out some of this stress lol I don't think I've mentioned that I'm going to an actual gym while I'm in NC! I know crazy right!? Y'all know I'm all about at home workouts but if we're being honest it's been great just getting out of my comfort zone. Plus I can see why some people get addicted to the gym lol

Anyway back to fashion. In today's post I'm collaborating with RUE 21 to share this GORGEOUS cowl neck sweater (available here)! It's currently on sale for $14! Insane! I'm wearing a small and fits great! I love that is a cowl neck, y'all know I don't really like turtle necks so this is great.

I paired it with these super high waist jeans (available here) ! And of course my favorite knee high boots (available here). There's only a few sizes left in them. I wear them all the dang time!

I hope you enjoyed this post!

Thank you so much for stopping by & for continuing to support my blog. It truly means the world to me!

I hope you have a blessed & happy day!

TARGET TRY ON

Monday, December 23, 2019

OUTFIT DETAILS| CREWNECK SHERPA SWEATSHIRT (S) $24

OUTFIT DETAILS: SNAKE SKIN DRESS (S) $25

OUTFIT DETAILS| MOCK NECK MIDI DRESS (XS) $28

Happy Monday friends!

Mama is up and early today! Of course i'll need about 2 maybe 3 cups of coffee but we're getting things done today!

My sister and I took a quick trip to Target the other day and I found some great pieces that I wanted to share. When I was in Texas I literally would have dreams about Target trips with my sister! haha It's so crazy how time changes everything. I feel like my sister truly is my bestfriend, and I think being apart this time around is going to be even harder!

Okay so back to the Try On!

This sherpa pullover (available here) is SO.DANG.COMFY! Of course it came home with me, it comes in a couple of other colors & is currently on sale for $15!

Listen! I regret not getting this metallic cami (available here)! And you know what they say, if you regret not buying it, you gotta go back haha, I don't think that's really a saying but you get the idea! I love the color of it! It would be a great piece to wear for New Years! The straps are adjustable as well!

This sherpa sweatshirt (available here) is definitely out of my comfort zone! I'm not really into cropped things anymore. BUT if cropped is your thing, this is also really cozy! I think it would be perfect to throw on after the gym during the colder months!

I love this snake skin dress (available here) another great option for New Years! Only downside is that I'm 4'11 so it fits me longer than what it's suppose too lol but I struggle with that all the time!

Finally this dress (available here)! I did not want to try this on y'all! It was long and again y'all know I'm super short so I thought this was going to be a hot mess on me! haha But my sister convinced me to and I LOVED it! Another piece I regret not buying! I think it paired so good with these knee high boots! Would be a perfect Christmas outfit!

That is a wrap on today's post! I hope y'all enjoyed! Thank you so much for continuing to support me! It truly means the world to me!

I hope y'all have a blessed & happy day! & of course a Merry Christmas!

Happy Wednesday friends!

If you don't follow me on IG or Facebook than let me go ahead and tell you that I chopped my hair off! lol I'm going through some things in life and I literally woke up and said to myself "I'm going to cut my hair". I had my hair this short back in March and within eight months it was already down to almost my waist so it grows pretty quickly!

I headed into Walmart and only found a few things. My local Walmart is tiny so I rarely have any luck. But everything I did find was under $20!

I saw this athletic pullover (available here) and immediately tried it on! It's so soft and I love the light blue color!

This chevron sweater is unfortunately not online but if you see it in store try it on! I love how it fits and it has bubble sleeves!

Y'all this plaid top (available here) is on sale for $7! It's pretty long so you can get away with wearing it with leggings!

I know what you're thinking, "more leopard girl!" haha but yes okay I'm obsessed! I love love this blanket scarf (available here) & it'll definitely keep you warm! You can use the link I provided to see if it's available at your local walmart.

By now you should know that I'm not a hat person lol but this short hair has me feeling fearless haha so I wanted to give this beanie (available here) a try! And I love how it looks! It's so dang cute!

I think I've shared this crossbody bag (available here) before on IG but I thought I'd share it on here! Only $17 and I love this grey one! It also comes in 2 other colors!

Okay these slippers (available here) are SO.DANG.COZY! They would also make a great christmas gift! I'm usually a size 6 and I tried on the 5/6 and they fit great! I love that they have that clog style so I can still wear them outside but they're still a slipper, you get me? lol

And that is it for today's Walmart Try On!

I hope you enjoyed it and find something you like! Thank you so much for stopping by & for continuing to support my blog!

See you Friday!

GIFT GUIDE FOR KIDS

Sunday, November 10, 2019

Happy Sunday friends!

I hope y'all had a wonderful weekend!

I'm trying to put up my gift guides on Sunday's so hopefully y'all enjoy them! And find it helpful

Today I'm sharing my kids guide! So before I share the items, I just wanted to let y'all know I have a four year old little boy. With time I have learned that my kid doesn't need just random toys lol I'm not saying we don't buy him race cars or trucks, etc but for Christmas we've been a little more smart with our purchases. Meaning we buy him things that he'll get TONS of use out of, or things that will help with his development. I hope that makes sense.

So here we go...

1. ATV RIDE/FOUR WHEELER (available here)- One of our friends bought this for their kid last year and I knew Julian had to have one! He loves riding with my husband and looking out for "piggys" and we live on a ranch so I think this may be his gift from "Santa"! He's going to love it!

2. BUZZ PLAY-DOH (available here)- I mean what kid doesn't love play-doh? An affordable but fun gift!

3. KIDCRAFT KITCHEN (available here)- I've been wanting a kitchen for Julian for the longest time, but my husband and I can't seem to agree on it lol I love that this one is more modern and the colors are neutral!

4. BISCUIT'S NEIGHBORHOOD SET OF 5 BOOKS (available here)- I highly recommend these books! They are a level 1 so they are perfect for getting them started on their reading! I remember reading these books when I was younger and it makes me so happy that Julian loves them too! Also such a great deal! You get 5 books for $15!

5. KIDS CLEANING SET (available here)- I love this! And I mean who doesn't need an extra hand when it comes to cleaning! Julian has a similar one and he loves it!

6. FIRE 7 TABLET (available here)- I go back and forth with tablets. I just feel that kids don't need them lol BUT it would be nice for Julian to have one for when I'm cleaning or long car rides. This one has great reviews and it was actually recommended by one of my followers!

7. CAT & JACK RAIN BOOTS (available here)- Another great gift! Julian has these boots and when I came home with them he went BANANAS!!! He loved them and wears them almost every single day! Rain or Shine!

8. LITTLE CRITTER COLLECTION (available here)- Do you guys remember these books? They were some of my faves! Again these are a level 1 also comes in a pack of 5!

CURRENT FOUNDATION ROUTINE: EASY & AFFORDABLE!

Friday, November 1, 2019

Happy Friday friends!

I hope you all had a wonderful & safe Halloween! It's currently ten in the morning and Julian is eating some of his candy, so I guess you can say I'm the best mom ever! He is living his best life! haha I posted a video of him singing Jingle Bells on my private Facebook so clearly he is over Halloween and moving right on to Christmas!

So on this wonderful Friday I am going to be sharing my current foundation routine! I posted one last summer, and it was time to update it because I'm not using majority of those products anymore! I have FINALLY found a drugstore foundation that I love & I can't wait to share!

Okay this is me bare face! Besides my brows & eye shadow! Over the years I have actually grown more confident in my skin and just, sometimes, rocking the no makeup look!

STEP 1: MAYBELLINE INSTANT PORE ERASER PRIMER (available here): I have been using this primer for the longest time! Hands down one of my faves! It helps out tremendously with my pores! I think this is a great dupe for the Benefit Pores No More primer, I tried a sample of it a few years back and loved it but I knew I could find a dupe for it at the drugstore. I concentrate this mostly in my T zone and then whatever is left I apply it to the rest of my face.

STEP 2: MILANI STICK FOUNDATION SHADE "275 AMBER"(available here): Y'all this foundation is AMAZING! I love it so dang much! I've been using it for the past 3 months and I literally have never loved a drugstore foundation so much! I use these Amazon brushes (available here), the flat top brush to apply it. I always start from the center of my face and work outward. This foundation is medium to full coverage, and just feels great on the skin! Doesn't feel cakey or heavy at all! I picked mine up at Walmart! After I've blended it out with my brush I go back in with my ELF beauty sponge (available here) and using the flat side of the sponge just pat the foundation in to make sure there's no streaks.

STEP 3: FLOWER BEAUTY LIGHT ILLUSION CONCEALER "MEDIUM HONEY" (available here): Then I apply my concealer using the same beauty sponge but now we're using the pointy side! This shade is a bit to light for my liking but overall I love this concealer! It's hydrating and has great coverage! I find that most concealers are too drying for my under eye and this one has been the best so far.

STEP 4: RIMMEL LONDON PRESSED POWDER "TRANSPARENT" (available here): This is such a great & affordable powder! Oldie but a goodie! Using the same sponge I press some of the powder onto my under eye. Then using my Real Techinques powder brush (available here) I grab some more of the powder and set the rest of my face! I love this powder because it doesn't leave a white cast on my face!

STEP 5: NYX MATTE BRONZER "DEEP TAN" (available here): I've talked about this bronzer before and well I still love it! It's the perfect bronzer! Not to red and not grey at all! I'm applying it to the hollows of my cheeks, making the fishy face, and then onto my forehead and jawline. I'm using the angled brush from the Amazon set.

STEP 6: MILANI BLUSH "CORAL COVE" (available here): If you watched my tutorial on my IG stories than you can tell that I love this blush! haha Let's just say this poor fellow has seen better days. I apply it using this ELF stipple brush (available here) and I go a little crazy with my blush, I love blush.

STEP 7: WET N WILD LOOSE HIGHLIGHT POWDER "HUSTLE & GLOW" (available here): This has been everyones favorite! It's only $5 and this bad boy will last you for several months! It's the best drugstore highlight! I love it! If you haven't tried it go snag it up! You'll fall in love with it too!

STEP 8: MAYBELLINE SETTING SPRAY (available here):I recently started using this setting spray and I don't know what took me so long to try it! Works so good! I can go a full 8 hours without getting too oily! And the sprayer is what dreams are made of!

And that is it for my foundation routine! Then I just go ahead and apply my mascara & lipstick! And then just a tad bit more setting spray! This foundation is good y'all and I highly recommend it! I hope you guys enjoyed it and be sure to check out my Instagram to see this baby in action! You can follow me HERE. I hope y'all have a wonderful weekend & thank you so much for continuing to support me!

See ya Friday with a workout post!
