Monday, September 30, 2019

Happy Monday friends!

The more I get my life together the more I'm starting to love Monday's, is that weird?

I haven't shared a workout post in a while, so today I'm sharing this quick ab workout! I did it this morning and holy guacamole y'all! Mama is sore already!

And I know we all have at least 12 minutes to spare, so there's not excuses. Just put your workout clothes on and get to it girlfriend. Once you finish you'll feel so much better, well besides your abs being on fire! haha

It's only 4 exercises, you're going to do each one for 45 seconds, resting for 15 seconds in between each one, and repeat for a total of 3 rounds. If you're up for more by all means add another round!

This workout is perfect to add on to your regular workout routine, or maybe after upper body & lower body day! Or heck even after a run. And its ONLY 12 MINUTES Y'ALL! NO EXCUSES!

Thank you so much for stopping by & for continuing to support my blog it means the world to me!

If you give this workout a go let me know how you liked it!

Also let me know in the comments if you're a Monday type of gal!

HOW TO CURL YOUR HAIR WITH A FLAT IRON

Friday, September 27, 2019

Happy Friday friends!

We made it to the weekend!

Okay so I'm just going to go ahead and jump right into this blog post because I'm trying to give you as much info as I can. As you can see I'm going to be sharing with y'all and updated HOW TO CURL YOUR HAIR WITH A FLAT IRON, you can check out my previous one here

Before we get into the hair tutorial I want to give you kinda of like a what I do when I wash my hair. So I don't think I've ever talked about it but I suffer from dandruff, gross I know! Here's the thing, I've used Head and Shoulders for as long as I can remember and that helps keep it under control. If I decide to be spontaneous one day and try out a different shampoo, honey my hair gets BAD! So that's why I've been using the same shampoo forever! Lol I don't have any issues with using different conditioners though. But if you know any dandruff remedies, hit your girl up!

I wash my hair every other day. As most of you know I work out and sweat so dang much so I have to wash it often, if not I look crazy! Lol One of my favorite conditioners is this 3 Minute Miracle from Aussie! I've used it for years and leaves my hair so soft! Once I hop out of the shower I wrap it up in my towel and leave it there for about 10-15 minutes. **Once I take it out I brush my hair and apply this mousse! I have been using this for a couple of months now and love it! It's one of the products that I use to add volume to my hair. I bought it while it was on sale for $9! So if you want to try it out, I'd recommend waiting till on goes back on sale.

After that I let my hair air dry. I can't remember the last time I used a blow dryer and I think that's one of the main reasons why my hair isn't as damaged as it should be. Also in the last couple of weeks I've been getting hair color questions and truthfully I just showed my hair girl a picture lol Because I've been parting it in the middle it looks a bit different than before. I have an appointment in a few weeks so I'll share more info on color when I'm there.

**The next day.
I don't like clean hair curls lol they don't come out the same and they're a lot more idk flimsy! Y'all know we love dry shampoo around here so I try to curl my hair on second day hair. Also I tend to have frizzy hair, if you know of a product that helps with that let me know! lol Of course a lot of it has to do with me sweating so dang much! I would also say I have oily hair.

Okay so now to curling!
If you've been following me for a while you know I have always used a flat iron, I just find it easier. I do use a curling iron on third day hair (if I make it that long) just to freshen up my curls. I have added a few steps to my routine so that's why I'm sharing an updated version.

Prepping:
One thing I forgot to do was apply some dry shampoo! What was I thinking. I have been giving this one a try, and I'll have to say it's not my favorite but it gets the job done. After dry shampoo I add this heat protection shine spray. Finally I add a few sprays of this marula oil. It leaves my hair soo dang soft! *Also bought on sale for $9*

Getting started:
Once I've let those products sit in for about 3 minutes I go in and just quickly run the flat iron through my hair, just to well straighten it out a bit lol

Curling!
I always set my flat iron to 410 degrees, of course you don't have to do it that high, just depends on your hair. Another thing I've been doing differently is that instead of just clamping and straightening, I clamp, slide the flat iron down my hair just a bit, and then curl. Hope that made some sense. Before I would just clamp and curl and I would notice that it leaves a "crease" but now it looks more "natural". I leave about an inch or so of hair at the end so I don't fully bring the flat iron down. But you can if you want to and sometimes I do. Just depends on what I'm feeling that day.

Once I finish curling I add this volume blast spray! This spray has changed my freaking hair! It adds so much volume and smells so good! It's a bit pricey for me, the full size bottle is $30 so I just purchased the travel size ($15) and it's lasted me almost a month now. But hands down the best volume spray I've ever tried! I apply it to my roots and just massage it in and get it all up in there and you know what they say "the bigger the hair the closer to God". And it has become my holy grail!

If none of that made sense I have a tutorial up on my IG stories so if you don't follow me make sure you do! FOLLOW ME HERE! Because y'all know I'm so good at explaining things !haha

And now you should be left with gorgeous & voluminous curls! Telling you girl, that volume spray is the so good! By the time I was done with these pictures I was sweating! lol hence the frizz. You win some you lose some!

I hope y'all enjoyed this post and found it helpful! Thank you so much for stopping by & for continuing to support my blog, it truly means the world to me!

Let me know in the comments whether you curl your hair with a flat iron or curling iron!

FITNESS UPDATE: STARTING OVER + DOING THINGS DIFFERENTLY

Monday, September 23, 2019

Happy Monday friends! & happy first day of Fall!

I feel like I have so much to update you guys on as far as my Health & Fitness journey goes! You can check out my previous updates HERE ,  HERE  & HERE

Okay so where to begin! For the past couple of months I have been going downhill! A lot of it has do to with personal issues that I will talk about in the future. I started my fitness journey January 2018 so I'm going on 2 years of trying to live a healthier & active lifestyle. I started off GREAT! I was on top of my game, worked out 5-6 times a week, was on a healthy eating kick, life was great! Lol but really.

After the first six months we took a trip to North Carolina and I had a little too much Bojanles! It's my fave! I still worked out but my eating wasn't too healthy. We stayed with my parents for a couple of months and then when we came back home to Texas I started back up with my healthy eating. January 2019 started off okay, I wasn't as motivated as I thought I would be. I created my own workout guide and was so pumped about it but I don't know, I just wasn't feeling it.

Eventually I got my motivation back and was doing the dang thing but like I said the last few months have been tough! I have been eating like crap! And y'all know I'm all about treat days but I was treating myself every.single.day! I haven't worked out in over a month so I've been all over the place. This is why it's called a "journey" because there's a lot of ups and downs.

Today was my first day back (to working out) and it felt so good to break a sweat! I saw a quote the other day on Pinterest that said "Don't be afraid to start over. This time you're not starting from scratch, you're starting from experience." And it was like the push that I needed.

It's okay to take a break as long as you don't give up. I was looking back on pictures from where I first started my fitness journey and I kept telling myself "if I would've just pushed myself, I would look so dang good by now!" haha but we live and we learn! The great thing about starting over this time around is that I know what works for me, I don't have to try to find diets or deprive myself from food. The biggest mistake I was making was not eating enough. I was afraid of food but not anymore girlfriend.

This time around I also plan on sharing my workouts more with you guys over on my Instagram so if you don't follow me be sure you do! I had a follower message me the other day and asked me when I would be sharing more fitness and she proceeded to tell me how I was the reason she started working out, she's a stay at home mom too and seeing me workout pushed here to start! Seeing these types of messages makes me so happy. You never really realize how you can impact someone else's life.

I am also starting to do Intermittent Fasting again. I will be doing a 16 hour fast & 8 hour eating period. If you haven't tried IF it's a great eating lifestyle. Of course be sure to consult with your doctor before starting. I was doing it about 6 months ago and noticed a huge difference in my body. I was less bloated, I wasn't going to sleep hungry, and I had so much energy.

Since today is the first day of Fall I will also be running a lot more while I still can before it starts to cool down. Running has helped me out so much, not only physically but also mentally. It's a great stress reliever!

There's a few things I've learned since I started my journey. One being to just love yourself through it. It's hard, y'all hear me say it all the time but the HARDEST part is starting. You will literally come with any and every excuse to not workout. Either you're too tired, which lets face it we're always going to be tired, you don't have enough time, you don't have anyone to watch your kids, you don't like lifting or running, and the list goes on! You don't have to workout because you want to lose weight, workout because you love yourself, because you want to live a healthy life, because (I sound like a broken record) we're not getting any younger.

And if you don't like going to the gym, guess what? There are TONS of at home workouts! I workout at home and I've seen great results. You don't need to spend 2 hours at the gym, but you can if that's what you like. Wake up 30 minutes before your kids do and get a 2o minute workout in. You don't like lifting or running? There is ALWAYS something for everyone. You can try boxing or Zumba, there's also Crossfit and cycling I mean literally there's a lot out there.

As far as eating better I'm still working on that lol I do want to include more veggies in my diet because I feel like I don't get enough in.

I'm sorry this post is kinda all over the place but I wanted to just talk about everything lol

Thank you so much for stopping by & for continuing to support my blog! It means the world to me!

AFFORDABLE FALL OUTFIT 🍁

OUTFIT DETAILS: HIGH NECK TANK (THIS COLOR IS SOLD OUT) / JEANS (WASH IS MEDIUM TINT) / CHEETAH PRINT BOOTIES

Happy Friday friends!

Grab your PSL and get cozy!

Just kidding I personally don't like Pumpkin Spice anything! But I'm so dang excited because this is my first official Fall Outfit Post! I love Fall, it's my favorite time of the year!

My parents just left and it's back to just Julian and I. It's been almost a whole month since I've been alone. I had one of my best girlfriends fly down and she spent a few days here and then my parents came so I've had plenty of company. It feels so weird to be alone again, and the house is so quiet! But I'm grateful I was able to enjoy some time with them.

Okay so for today's post I'm sharing this affordable Fall outfit! I love love love this combo!

This high neck tank is sold out in this color but other colors are available. I always feel like I have to tell you guys that if there's something you like and it's sold out online, be sure to head to your local store and check because with Walmart I always find that things are usually sold out online but fully stocked in store. I love how soft it is and it's a great transitional piece. Also perfect for layering! For reference I'm wearing a small and it fits great with enough room to tie a knot or tuck it in.

I've mentioned these jeans before but I'm sharing again because they're so good! I love that they only have distressing on the knees and it's not too much! I have them in the "medium tint" wash. In the store photo they look a little cropped to me but I'm 4'11 so I still have to roll them up once #thestruggle. I'm wearing a size 1 and they fit perfectly! Not too tight and not too loose!

Okay can we talk about these booties!! I told y'all I was a sucker for anything and everything leopard! lol There are so many ways to style them and they're so comfy too!

My tote is also from Walmart and only $10! This exact color is not online yet but again it may be available in store.

Thank you so much for stopping by & for continuing to support my blog! It means the world to me. I hope y'all have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Monday! I know it's been FOREVER since I've published a new blog post! The past couple of months have been pretty crazy, and in the last few weeks I've had friends and family over and have been soaking up every minute with them! So I took some time off blogging, which was much needed so I could get my ducks in a row too!

But today I'm sharing this outfit with you guys! We took these photos when we went to San Antonio for the weekend. And let me tell you, it was freaking hot! My husband has been at this #instagramhusband thing for a year now so he knows that we need to get the shot ASAP before I start to sweat! haha

This tee is so comfy! & not to toot my own horn (toot toot) but I like to think that I am the best mama ever! I like majority of my tees to be v-necks so clearly this one was right up my alley so I snagged it. I was also able to get a discount code for you guys, you can use "Rosa10" for 10% off your purchase! Valid until December 31st! Thread Tank has a variety of tees! And they just launched their new Fall collection so be sure the check them out!

I paired it with this paper bag skirt & these comfy espadrilles! My tote is from Walmart & only $10!

I've also been getting a few questions on what foundation I have been using and I will have a full blog post with my updated foundation routine soon!
