COFFEE TALK: WHAT IF I FALL? OH, BUT DARLING WHAT IF YOU FLY?

Wednesday, November 28, 2018

Happy Wednesday friends!

It feel like it has been a while, although it's only been about a week! haha I had the urge to write this post, and if you've been following me you know I usually do my Coffee Talk series on Tuesdays (CoffeeTalkTuesday), it completely slipped my mind that today is actually Wednesday! #mombrain but I really wanted to get this post out today, so here we are!

I mentioned my husband was in an accident almost a month ago and since than he has been on light duty. I'm a stay at home mom, so obvi he is the only one bringing in income. Ever since his accident, my mind has been full of "what if's" . I love being a stay at home mom, I love being able to spend quality time with Julian, I love making dinner for my husband, but I'm not going to lie, sometimes it sucks not helping out financially.

Back in maybe 2010ish, I actually started making Youtube videos! I know! When I started I was SO excited. I wanted to show people outfits, fashion tips, makeup , all that jazz. I did that for maybe a year and then I QUIT. I QUIT because I was afraid of what people would think. I was afraid people would make fun of me, although it was something I genuinely LOVED, I was TOO focused on what people would say.

I then started my blog in 2011, blogging to me is AMAZING. You get to connect with people, and read their story and all the great things they have to share. I QUIT blogging because AGAIN I was afraid of people making fun of me, I didn't want to be "weird".

My blog has been on and off for about 5 years now, I started back up in 2015, QUIT again in 2016, started again in 2017 and QUIT again, and now I'm FINALLY making it my goal to move forward because it's something I LOVE to do!

I promise this post has a point!

I keep asking myself WHAT IF, I wouldn't have quit Youtube, I could be helping provide for my family right now, IF only I would've followed my heart.

I keep asking myself WHAT IF, I wouldn't have quit Blogging, I could be helping my husband pay the bills, and just having that "backup" income.

But I MADE myself QUIT because I was too concerned with what people would think and say. I didn't follow my heart, I didn't work hard for my goals, because I was afraid. Social Media has turned into something great, for some, it's a way they pay the bills, it's a way they can be at home with their children and still have some income, it's a way people HELP other people find confidence, help them find their style, help them find budget friendly pieces, heck even helped some people learn how to cook (me)!

Being a stay home mom is hard y'all! I personally thought it was going to be fabulous! I have worked since I was able too, I went back to work when Julian was 8 weeks old, so not bringing in any income, has been a HUGE adjustment for me.

So, if you're thinking about blogging, vlogging, Youtube or whatever it is you have your mind set to, DO IT! People will judge & talk NO MATTER what! Do what you love! You really don't know who you might be inspiring. My main point of this "venting" post is that, I've been beating myself up because this could have been my career, my full time job, if I just kept working hard and doing what I love. So don't be me lol! No matter what it is that you want to do, DO IT! You might feel silly at first, for asking your husband to snap pictures of you infront of a brick wall or to stop on the side of the road because it's the PERFECT Fall tree, but HE'LL get use to it! haha Right babe?!

I hope y'all enjoyed this kinda random post! Thank you so much for stopping by & for continuing to support my blog! I promise you, every like, comment & share helps me out a ton! & doesn't go unnoticed!

**Thank you to Rue 21 for providing me with this gorgeous outfit**

BUSY GIRLS 10 MINUTE WORKOUT

Monday, November 19, 2018

Happy Monday friends!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

I am currently multitasking and getting this blog post done AND trying to pack! We're heading to San Antonio for Thanksgiving, and I'm pretty dang excited to eat some tacos! And incase you're wondering #vacationcalories don't count! Okay so I kinda just made that up, but really!

It's so hard to pack, especially for three people, and Texas weather doesn't help much since it's CONSTANTLY changing!

For today's post I wanted to share with y'all this 10 MINUTE WORKOUT...I know what you're thinking! But trust me, if you give it all you got for those 10 minutes, you will be sore! I was looking for something easy because I felt inspired to workout on Sunday (rest day) so I ended up running 2 miles & doing this workout.

This workout is perfect for the upcoming holiday's especially if you're going to be traveling, it's only 10 minutes, how hard could it be right? haha

I hope y'all enjoy!

You can repeat this 3 times for a total of a 30 minute workout, but of course work at your own pace!

Thank you so much for stopping by! And for continuing to support my blog, it means the world to me!

HOW TO START YOUR FITNESS JOURNEY!

Monday, November 12, 2018

Happy Monday Friends!

I hope you all are having a wonderful day!

It's a gloomy day for us here in Texas, but I'm not complaining! It makes taking pictures for my blog so much better because I'm not sweating my butt off! haha I did want to share with y'all some exciting news! I told you guys I was asked to be a Rue 21 ambassador for the Fall season, and they were pleased with my work, well our work, and they've asked me to continue on and be an ambassador for the Holiday Season!

I'm so excited! It's such a wonderful opportunity and I'm so grateful! I wouldn't be getting this without you guy's support! Trust me when I tell you that I am SOO grateful for every like, share, comment, and views! It helps me out so much & ahh I'm just SO GRATEFUL!

With the new year being just around the corner, I'm already making a list with all my 2019 goals! Of course one being a fitness and health goal! I started MY FITNESS JOURNEY in January 2018 and I've done pretty good! I workout but I really need discipline in the food department! You know what they say "abs are made in the kitchen", so I'm hoping to work on that!

For today's post I wanted to share a few ways on how I started my fitness journey. I hope this encourages you to start! I promise you the hardest part is the START! Once you get into it you're going to start seeing results and you're just going to want more! Again, I'm sharing from experience! I am in no way a professional!

I hope y'all enjoy!

  • FIND YOUR GOAL....WHAT IS YOUR GOAL?- When I first started my journey, my goal was to initially lose a few pounds! Once I was satisfied with where I was, then my goal was to tone up! So figure out what you want your fitness goal to be. Whether than be losing weight, toning up, gaining weight, build muscle, more energy, etc..
  • FIND WHAT YOU ENJOY! - This is sooo important y'all! I love to run so any chance I get, I'll go for a run to get my cardio in! I have found that I also love to lift! I know a ton of people that dislike running, and it's not for everyone so you just have to find what works for you! There's so many programs out that you can try, you could do Zumba, Boxing, CrossFit, and there's just so much out there, something for everyone! Find something that makes you want to workout.
  • FIND WHAT WORKS FOR YOU- This is aimed more towards your "diet". I've said it before but I'm not on any diet. I basically eat what I want, but I portion my food, I substitute where I can and I chose healthier options. There are so many healthier alternatives to your favorite food now that there are a bunch of healthy stuff out there.
  • KEEP A FOOD JOURNAL!- I did this for the first couple of months of my fitness journey and it helped me so much! I wasn't too specific with it, I kinda just wrote down what I ate that day. I didn't write down calories or any of that stuff. But when I ate unhealthy, I looked back at my food journal and gave myself a little pep talk, and figured out where I can do better next time. Just to kinda visually see where you need to improve on.
  • DRINK LOTS OF WATER! - This is another one that a lot of people aren't fond off! And I totally get it! But it's so important to drink your water. I try to drink a gallon at least 3-4 times a week, and sometimes i'll add half to a pitcher and add some lemon slices or strawberries, basically pretty infused water! Make it fun! And at the beginning take baby steps, start with drinking at least 2 bottles of water and work your way up!
  • MAKE TIME FOR IT! - I use to workout during Julian's nap time, but nap time is slowly fading away! So I now workout in the mornings around 6-7am. We all have different schedules, so you have to make time for it, IF you really want it. You don't need a gym membership and you don't need to spend 2 hours at the gym! Trust me! I workout at home and my workouts are usually 30-45 minutes long! And I'm seeing results.
  • TAKE BEFORE AND AFTER PICTURES- These keep me going y'all! I take them once a month and wow! When i'm feeling down, or I just don't want to wake up and do my workout, I look back at my pictures and I get my butt up and work for it! I've come so far and I can only get better from here! So take pictures!

I hope y'all enjoyed this post! And found it helpful!

FALL OUTFIT: PERFECT FALL SWEATER + JUSTFAB REVIEW

Friday, November 9, 2018

Happy Friday friends!

This week was pretty eventful to say the least! But we've made it to the weekend & I am grateful.

We made a quick trip to Target this morning & incase you know a Veteran, pass the word that they're offering 10% off until November 12! Of course we had to take our favorite veteran, and initially we were just going to "look" but one thing led to another and well a few dollars later Julian came home with a new Winter wardrobe! haha

I try to always share sales on JustFab.com when I can, and one of the most common questions I get, is if it's worth it. So for today's post I'm going to be sharing this Fall Outfit featuring this PERFECT mustard sweater & doing a little review on JustFab.

Okay so when you sign up, you go through the whole picking your styles & size, once you've done that you HAVE to put you're credit card in, now I know that sounds pretty scary, but I promise you it's not!

Once you've done that, your first style is only $10! Which is a pretty good deal! After that, you have until I believe the 5th of each month to SKIP, meaning if there's nothing you like that month or it's just not in your budget. If you forget to skip your credit card WILL BE charged I believe it's still $39.95, and then it will just be credited into your JustFab account.

Y'all know I'm a fashionista on a budget so I think it's totally worth it! They ALWAYS have really good sales and that's when I make a purchase, I don't think I've ever paid more than $25 for a pair of shoes! I have skipped multiple times and have had no issues with them. And I set a reminder on my phone on the 1st to go ahead and skip the month.

Below I'm sharing photos of the shoes I've purchased, they all fit true to size and are pretty comfortable. Again I've NEVER had any issues with sizing or anything like that, well so far.

And now for this gorgeous & perfect Fall outfit!

HOW TO-EASY FAN BUN (FOR LONG HAIR)

Tuesday, November 6, 2018

Happy Tuesday Friends!

I hope you all are having a wonderful day so far!

I was planning on posting yesterday but I had clean hair so this quick hair tutorial wouldn't have turned out too well! I'm feeling like myself again and I'm taking full advantage of it & getting creative!

I have some exciting news that I can't wait to share with y'all! I'm just waiting for it to go through before I share!

On another note, I can't believe we only have  almost two months left of this year! It has definitely flown by. I'm already working on my goals for next year.

For today's post I wanted to share with y'all this super easy Fan Bun! I'll be honest & tell you that this is a pretty big bun, especially if you have thick hair. So just beware! But I love big buns soo....

I did do another bun tutorial that you can check out HERE! It's also fairly easy & less obnoxious! haha

Before we begin I wanted to share a couple of tips, to get the best out of your bun

#1 This works BEST on dirty hair!
#2 Do NOT brush your hair, trust me on this!

Okay so let's begin..

Step 1: You know we have to start with dry shampoo girl!

Step 2 *optional*: If you already have textured hair you probably can skip this step, but I like to tease my hair just a bit to add more texture & volume to my hair. It helps the bun look a lot more fuller!

Step 3: Now we're going to start gathering our hair into a ponytail, I like my pony pretty high up, but adjust to your preference of course!

Step 4: Here's the good part, depending on how thick your hair is you might have to loop your hair through more than once. But loop your hair once, as if you were doing a regular pony, then on the second loop your going to pull your hair through ONLY half way, once you do this bun once, you'll have an idea of how much hair to pull through.

Step 5: And you can leave your bun like this, but since I do have long hair I do have that extra hair in the back as you can see, & it just bothers me lol So what I'm going to do is section off into two and bring it forward & criss cross around the ponytail and then just pin it down with some bobby pins. I hope that made some sense!

And that is it! From here you can just make it messy, y'all know we don't like perfect around here so I just pull a few strands of hair out, loosen it up a little, and just add some hairspray to secure it!

Y'all know I'm not great at explaining things so I added a quick video over on my IG stories! You can check it out HERE!

I hope y'all enjoyed this post & thank you so much for stopping by and continuing to support my blog! It means the world to me!
