FITNESS UPDATE: LOSING MOTIVATION

Friday, September 28, 2018

Happy Friday my lovely readers!
I hope y'all are having a wonderful day!
It's been pretty gloomy all day but I'm NOT complaining! It's also been in the 70's so Julian and I enjoyed our morning at the park. A couple of friends from NC, were telling me how HOT it is over there! I hope it cools down for y'all!!! It was so fun watching him play and gosh his imagination is growing! So grateful I get to enjoy it, and not melt! Peace out Summer!

For today's post I just wanted to update y'all on my Fitness Journey. I have been struggling so much within the past couple of months. Well I'll be honest ever since I went to NC, which was in late April, I think. I just haven't been doing my best, I've been slacking when it comes to making healthier choices. I have been working out five days out of the week but I just, I don't know, I feel like I just don't push myself as much anymore.

There's always going to be a period in your fitness journey, that you're going to lose motivation, and it's completely normal! Right now, I'm at that stage. I thought about giving up, and just saying screw it, BUT I have worked so hard to where I'm at now, that I really don't want to give up. Have you ever heard the quote "Imagine where you could be in a year, IF you DON'T give up" that's kinda what's keeping me going.
If you guy's didn't read this blog post (7 WAYS TO STAY MOTIVATED)  , I mention how important it is to take before and after pictures. Well that's another MAJOR reason that I haven't given up! I look back at my before pictures, and I can't help but feel so proud of myself! Working out has not only helped me to feel more sexy & confident, but it has also helped me be in a better mental state.
I ALWAYS feel so much better, and relieve so much stress, when I have a sweat sesh! Running, to be exact, is one of my favorite exercises! It's therapy to me. And definitely a lot cheaper than a therapist! haha
So incase anyone needs to hear this too! DON'T GIVE UP!
I know it's hard, trust me! But it's so worth it! We've come so far to give up now! And if you still haven't found the motivation to START! This is the "sign" you've been looking for! lol but really! The HARDEST part is always starting, I know super cheesy but it's the truth! I think most of us are at least in our almost mid 20's? Maybe lol My point is that the older we get the harder it is to start a healthier lifestyle.
And when I say healthier lifestyle, I mean still enjoying your favorite foods here and there, but also knowing when to make a healthy choice. I don't mean eating salads every day, and depriving yourself!

So here is to hopefully starting fresh, A New Month Means New Goals!

Below I'm going to be sharing a few before & after pictures! I hope y'all enjoyed today's post!

EASY FALL MAKEUP LOOK

Tuesday, September 25, 2018

Happy Tuesday my lovely readers!

I hope you've had a wonderful week so far!

I'm currently making dinner and working on this blog post, moms are made to multitask am I right? I decided to switch up my blogging schedule just a tad, so instead of having a post up on Monday, I'm going to try Tuesday. I feel like Monday's are usually our busy day so we'll see how this goes.
Hopefully it works out!

For today's post I wanted to share with y'all an easy Fall makeup look! I'm no makeup expert, I'm self taught and thanks to tons of Youtube videos, I know the basics. This is such an easy look, that I HAD to share with y'all! And of course affordable! Also I recently purchased this Maybelline Fit Me Foundation, and yup, it's becoming my go-to!

I have my Apple Pumpkin candle burning, and some Fall decor up, it's definitely feeling like Fall around here, well besides the weather haha!

It was feeling a little bit like Fall the past couple of days, but we're right back into the 80's! No bueno! It's definitely better than being in the 100's!

Okay so to the tutorial....

Face:
I start with primer, today I'm using the Wet n Wild Matte primer and it's so good! Definitely recommend it for oily skin! Then I use the Real Techniques beauty sponge (damp), and the Maybelline Foundation, add some concealer and set everything with the Fit Me powder. I add some definition to my brows and a little blush. And of course some highlight!

Eyes:
Now for the star of the show! I apply a small amount of this NYX eye primer. I'm going to be using the Carly Bybel Palette (thanks sissy), which I love! I'm going to take shadow #1 and apply as the "transtion" color, I think that's the correct term lol

Then I take shadow #2 and apply it to my lid, I use my finger because I feel like it goes on better.

Next I take shadow #3 and I take a small amount and apply it to my crease, I start off light and then add some more shadow if I want it darker. Then I go back with shadow #1 and using just a little bit I make sure everything is blended well.

Finally I just add some highlight to my brow bone, and I love using this shade (shadow #4) .

Oh & I almost forgot! Mascara! Y'all know I love me some, big voluminous lashes!

Easy peasy right?!

Lips:
And lastly, lips! This wouldn't be a Fall Makeup Look without a dark lipstick or lip creme! This color, (NYX-Copenhagen), is by far my FAVORITE Fall lip color EVER!

And that is it! I told you it was easy!

I hope you all enjoyed today's post! Thank you so much for stopping by and for your support! It means the world to me!
Have a wonderful day!

FALL OUTFIT: FLANNEL + KNEE HIGH BOOTS

Happy Friday my lovely readers!

I hope you all are having a wonderful day so far!

I'm super excited for today's post because this outfit is just soo gorgeous! It SCREAMS Fall! Everything from the Flannel Shirt to the Over the knee boots, I just love it so much! I mentioned on my social media that I am one of Rue 21's Brand Ambassador for the Fall season, and I'm super excited!

I use to shop there ALL the time! They have amazing & stylish pieces and for very affordable prices! And y'all know girlfriend over here, is all about fashion on a budget! It still feels a little surreal that they reached out to me!

This is my second Fall outfit, you can check out the first one HERE,  that I've posted on my blog but get ready for more because Fall will officially be here tomorrow!!! Who else is excited!?

Okay so now to the outfit! The flannel top was so kindly gifted to me by Rue 21, it is by far one of the most comfortable flannels I've ever owned! And can we talk about the color! So perfect! I love the cold shoulder detail, it makes it perfect for Fall here in Texas (currently 90 degrees!!) This is definitely a top that I'm going to get so much use out of!

These high rise jeans are from Fashion Nova, I've talked about them before in previous posts! You definitely need a basic black denim in your wardrobe!

I'm not even going to lie, I screamed of excitement when I received these boots in the mail! I was kinda skeptical because I'm super short y'all! So I thought they were going to look a little weird on me, buuutt they are the perfect length! And so comfy too! Oh and versatile! I can't wait to style them for y'all!

I've posted links to the outfit at the bottom! I hope y'all enjoyed this post! And I can't wait to share more Fall looks with you guys!

Have a great weekend friends! I also wanted to remind you

COFFEE TALK TUESDAY: FINISH THE DAY WITH A GRATEFUL HEART

Tuesday, September 18, 2018

Happy Tuesday my lovely readers!

I hope y'all are having a good week so far!

I've been scrolling through Facebook just about every 5 minutes since Hurricane Florence hit NC, I've been trying to keep up with all the latest news and sharing as much as I can. I can't believe how many people are left without homes. And I can't even begin to imagine how bad things COULD'VE been if it had hit as a category 4! Thank God it didn't!

My family is safe and sound! They've been without electricity since Saturday I think, but other than that, they are fine, and our home is good too! Praise the Lord!

Which brings me to today's post....

A while back I published a similar post, you can check that out HERE  , with everything that's going on back home, I was inspired once again to just remind everyone to be grateful. I know things, life, can be so tough, but there's always something to look forward too. I have seen so many families lose everything, I've seen posts about people trying to get back home, people being scared because they don't know if they still have a home, people have lost their lives, family members, and pets. And gosh it all just makes my heart ache!

But it also reminds me that I have so much to be grateful for! I have a good husband, a wonderful little boy, a family that loves me, a couple of friends who accept me for me, and online friends who support me so much! I am healthy, I am alive, and I have everything I NEED. I often find myself thinking so negative about a certain situation, a temporary situation, that I forget how much there is to be thankful for.

A little over a year ago, I was such a different person, I isolated myself from everyone. I was in such a negative place! Alot of it had to do with me not feeling good about myself physically, so I started working out, but another major part was that I was constantly feeling ungrateful. We are renting our house, and I kept thinking, well I wish we could buy a house, we have a good car, and again I kept telling myself, well we need a truck, we have the basic furniture we need, but I wanted more....

I never once just thanked God and my husband for everything we already had. We might not have everything we WANT but we sure do have everything we NEED!

So with everything going on back home, just take a moment to be grateful for what you have, take a moment to thank God, and to thank all the men and women who are working so hard to clear the roads, rescue people, provide food and shelter, and to all our linemen who are working endlessly to get things back up and running.

I hope you all enjoyed this post! Thank you so much for stopping by and please know that I am praying so hard!

P.S I should really start calling Texas home, but it might take a while lol

Happy Friday my lovely readers!

Before we even begin, can we please take a second to just thank God! I think we all prayed our little hearts out and hurricane Florence went from a category 4 to a 2! Amen to that! My family is safe, and thank you all who reached out to make sure they were okay! I know a lot of people are without power and so many places are flooded, I'm continuing to pray!

I have been so nervous about this storm, and about my families safety. I was really hoping they would come down to pass the storm but it is quite a drive and they have jobs soo i'll have to wait until Christmas to see them, maybe.

For today's post I'm going to be sharing with y'all a few beauty obsessions! I've been trying out a few new products lately and wanted to share the ones I'm loving! All of them are from the drugstore so they're definitely super affordable.

Oh yeah, I purchased a curling iron! I know right, FINALLY! But it's taking me a bit to get use to it! I usually curl my hair with a flat iron  but I really want to learn how to do it with a curling iron! So wish me luck lol

Okay so back to my current favorites....

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Polish- If you have not tried these you really need to get your hands on them! I know it's a pain to paint your own nails, trust me! I've been doing it for almost 3 months now and I'm barely getting use to it. These lasts me a good week and a half before they start to chip, that's really good compared to regular polish.

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation- Okay so I used this foundation a couple of years ago, and y'all it's soo good! I don't know why I stopped using it!

Real Techniques Beauty Sponge- This is my FAVORITE way to apply foundation & concealer! I love this beauty sponge, it's under $7, and it's just amazing! It's a great dupe for the Beauty Blender!

Keratin Protein Conditioner - I've been using this conditioner for a little over two months, it leaves my hair feeling so soft & silky! I use this about four times a week and I just can't get enough!

Not Your Mother's Body Building Dry Shampoo- I love just about every single Not Your Mothers products! And this one did not let me down! I apply if after I curl my hair and it just adds that touch of volume & body to my hair!

I hope y'all enjoyed this post! Again thank you so much for stopping by and taking the time to read! Oh and thank you all for the sweet comments on my last photo, I announced that I will be working with Rue 21 this Fall. I'm so excited and I just can't thank y'all enough! Every single, like, comment, share, etc. helps me out so much!

I hope y'all have a wonderful weekend, and i'll continue to pray for everyone affected by this hurricane!

DIY- FALL WREATH 2018

Happy Monday my lovely readers!

I hope you all are having a wonderful day so far.

I’m feeling pretty anxious and stressed today, hurricane Florence is suppose to make landfall and come in as a category 4, in North Carolina. My family is there and mostly all my friends. It’s pretty scary to know how strong this hurricane seems to be. I hate being so far away from them, especially during this type of thing, but no worries! I’m trying my best to convince them to stay with us, until it passes!

I hate severe weather, hurricanes & tornadoes? Nope. I can’t handle it lol I panic, like really really panic. I’m such a baby when it comes to those things. I’m praying for everyone that’s in the path of this horrible hurricane! Please take precautions, it’s better be safe than sorry!

For today’s post I wanted to share with y’all my 2018 Fall Wreath! I am not crafty at all, I don’t have the patience or talent for that but I do try a little. I was going to buy a wreath that was already made this year, but wow! I personally feel they are super expensive. And I don’t like anything toooo fancy. I like simplicity. So I ended up making my own again.

I bought the flowers from Hobby Lobby, and that’s really the only thing I paid for. The wreath itself I already owned, and you’ll also need a glue gun and some scissors.

I began by taking the stem of the flowers & leaves. I left enough to where I could pull it around the wreath. Once I did that, I arranged it on the wreath. Make sure you place the flowers where you like, and play around with it a little, before you glue the flowers. Then once it’s where you like it, just go ahead and glue them to the wreath. It’s EXTREMELY easy!

I ended up taking the yellow ones out, I feel like it made it look to summery lol & we’re all about Fall here!
You could also add a cute bow or some glittery leaves, or just add your personal touch. I might at a little more to it, and if I do I’ll let you guys know. But that is it. Super simple but still cute & Fall!

I hope y’all enjoyed this short post! Again thank you so much for your support & for taking the time to read my blog! It means the world to me!

Happy Friday Friends!

I hope you all had a wonderful week!

We're spending this gloomy Friday, snuggled up on the couch watching The Black List. If you love Criminal Minds, than you're going to love this show! My husband was the one to introduce it to me. Insatiable is also another good Netflix show! What are some of your favorite?

For today's post I wanted to share with y'all my favorite Lower Body Workout, I previously shared My Ab Workout too!

These are some of my favorite exercises! I work lower body twice a week, and on Wednesdays and sometimes Sunday's I run. I actually love to run, and I feel like that has played a major role on keeping the weight off, and also the main reason why my legs are pretty toned.

I use to be so embarrassed of my legs, I always thought they were so manly, now I just embrace it! And I feel pretty damn good about them!  I hope you enjoy this post!

I go through all five exercises and repeat 3 times, if you can do 4, then go for it girlfriend!

1) Squats-12

2) Hip Thrusts-12

3) Donkey Kicks-12 each side

4) Reverse Lunge-12 each side

5) Plank Leg Raise-12 each side

I hope y'all enjoyed! Thank you so much for stopping by! & for you're support! It means the world to me!

COFFEE TALK TUESDAY: TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF, MAMA + 5 WAYS TO HAVE "ME" TIME

Tuesday, September 4, 2018

Happy Tuesday my lovely readers!

I hope y'all had a wonderful three day weekend!

Today's post is going to be a Coffee Talk Tuesday! These are my favorite kind of posts because I can spill my feelings to y'all! And you kinda get to know me a little more. Let me know if you enjoy this series!

These past few days have been so hard for me, I don't really know what triggered it, I just woke up one day and my emotions went downhill. I was cranky, sad, annoyed, and felt soo anxious. I've had multiple meltdowns, and I literally just sit on our bed and sob until there's just no more tears. I've been feeling like I'm not enough, I feel tired, I feel like I just can't catch a break, and honestly now that I'm feeling a little bit better, I look back and realize it's not that big of a deal, well most of it.

And here's the thing, please don't bash me as a bad mom or think I don't love my son, he's my world, and I would kill and die for him, but sometimes I need a break from him. Julian and I have been inseparable since the day he was born, and I feel so lucky that his a mamas boy! But that's the thing, my husband could literally be sitting on the couch, and I'm in the restroom and Julian will find me just to open his snack, but he does that because he LOVES his mama.

I'm grateful that he loves me so much, don't get me wrong please, I hope no one takes this the wrong way. These past few days I have been snapping at him and just not being a good mom, not giving him my best and I realized that it's because I need a break. Even if it's just an hour, I need to regain focus, and remind myself that it's okay to feel like this.

I often feel guilty for asking my husband to takeover for a few hours because he works full time, he has to deal with some crazy stuff all day, and I know he gets home tired. Even on his days off I feel this guilt, because this is his time to unwind and clear his mind, you know? Don't get me wrong he helps me out tremendously but there's days that I need that extra hand and I feel too guilty to ask for it.

I knew self care was important but since becoming a mom, I've realized that it's a HUGE part of your life, and you really need to take time for yourself. You can't give your family your best if you don't FEEL your best. I can only speak for myself but I don't think I've put myself first or made myself a priority since I found out I was pregnant. And yes I know that's what moms do, we put everyone before us and that's honestly what makes us so great and awesome lol, but is it okay to put ourselves at the top of the list at some point?

Why is it that we ALWAYS feel like a "bad mom" when we ask for a break? We know we need it but it doesn't feel right because we have to cater to our babies. Why does it feel like going out for a Target run or coffee run ALONE, is such a bad thing. It might just be me, but I always feel like I'm abandoning Julian, like he knows I'm leaving for a couple of hours WITHOUT him because mama just needs a little alone time.

What I'm basically saying and what I've learned is that you need to take care of yourself mama. IT'S OKAY to put yourself first, it might sound selfish to some but Lord knows if mama ain't happy no one is, it's like #MomLaw! Lol We're like the anchor that holds family together, and if that anchor is rusty and you know, it has seen better days, it's not doing much of holding, you know? Okay that probably made no sense but you know what I mean!

So here's a few things you can do to have some "me" time....

1)Take some time to read your favorite book, which by the way do  people read anymore? I feel like everything is on like a podcast thing, audible? I think that's what it's called.

2)Do your makeup, Lord knows I feel like a million bucks when I have my hair and makeup done, and even put on a cute outfit. Beyonce better watch out girlfriend!

3)Enjoy nature! It's the little things!

4)Exercise! Because A. It makes you feel soo good and B. because, how else are you suppose to keep up with a toddler?

5)Take that Target run ALONE! Enjoy some piece and quiet, while you sip on some Starbucks and add things you don't need to your cart, and $200 later you feel so refreshed! haha

I hope you enjoyed this personal post! Thank you so much for stopping by and for your support! It means the world to me!
