HOW TO- MESSY BUN

Friday, August 31, 2018

Happy Friday my lovely readers!

I hope y'all had a wonderful week! This week was a slow one for us but we're glad its the weekend! This mama is about to enjoy some pizza and wine! This month, well September, I plan on cutting back on my treat days, just because I've been binge eating quite a bit since I got back home. I really want to push myself these next few months. On another note, I'm so glad to hear that I'm not the only one that dislikes Pumpkin Spice! I've never been fond of it, but gimme all the pumpkin candles and decor!

This is totally off topic but I need some help y'all! Julian just turned 3 and he will pee in the potty but poop!? No ma'am! I don't know what it is, but he just does not want to poop in the potty! His done it maybe once or twice, his been half potty trained lol for about 6 months now. I don't know if I should pressure him to go, or just give him time, I don't know! Help a mama out!

For today's post I'm going to be sharing with y'all my go-to messy bun! It's so easy! It does seem like a lot of steps but take in mind I'm taking pictures of every single step. I also uploaded a quick video to my IG stories, to help y'all out a little bit. Y'all know I'm not very good at explaining. Also, I love to do a fan bun too! They're so fun! But that'll be a post for another day!

I love messy buns in the Fall! Especially when you wear a chunky sweater with a cute scarf, and boom, you add a bun, and you're good to go girlfriend!

So let's begin....

This bun works best with dirty hair! This is third day hair, and y'all know I can't go more than two days, but I was feeling too lazy to wash my hair so here we are....lol

Step 1: Add some dry shampoo, this one is by far my favorite! Add it to your roots and massage it in. Then you want to brush out your hair, I flip my hair forward because I feel like it adds more volume to the bun.

Step 2: Then you're going to put your hair up as if you were doing a ponytail, and the higher the better! The higher the hair the closer to God, am I right?!

Step 3: Once you've done that, you're going to grab the "tail" of your hair and start wrapping it around your hand, your going to hold it in place with your thumb and index finger, while you wrap you hair your going to use your other three fingers to hold it in place.

Also as you get towards the end you want to tuck the ends under your bun.

Step 4: Once you have all your hair wrapped around, you're going to use one of the hair ties and wrap it around the bun, I'm able to go around twice, but it all depends on the thickness of your hair.

You should end up with something like this...you could totally leave it like this, but it looks a little too "perfect" for me, I like my buns messy! Lol Sooo...

Step 5: Here all we're going to do is loosen it up a bit, and make it as big and fluffy as you'd like! I also take out some strands of hair, just to give it a little more of a messy look.

Step 6: This last step is where you can either add some bobby pins to secure the bun as well as some hairspray or you can do what I'm doing, because I don't have any bobby pins or hairspray lol All I'm doing is adding another hair tie over the bun, and adjusting it once more. If you have super thick hair, this is a good tip, add another hair tie and ALSO use bobby pins and that bun ain't going nowhere girl! And then once you're done just play with it a little, to get it to your liking, and all done! I promise you it's super easy!

I hope y'all enjoyed this post! Like I said I promise it's easy! Oh but please remember, no two messy buns are the same, I mean it's practically a miracle if they do. I'm lucky if I get it right on the first try!
