5 TIPS TO GET BACK ON TRACK | HEALTHY LIFESTYLE

Monday, October 28, 2019

Happy Monday friends!

I hope you all are having a wonderful day!

What better way to start of this Monday than with a tip blog post!! I am back on track with my fitness & healthy eating lifestyle and I wanted to share with y'all a few tips on how I did it! It's called a "journey" for a reason so some months I'm all in, eating my veggies and drinking my water, running & getting my workouts in, other months I'm eating a double whopper and sippin on some coke while binge watching Netflix. IT HAPPENS! Don't beat yourself up over it! Just get back on track, don't give up!

So let's just jump right into it shall we?!

  1. QUIT MAKING UP EXCUSES!: Okay I promise I'm not screaming to you as I say that, maybe just a tad! haha but really drop the excuses! By now you should know that the more you make excuses the more you'll regret them later! My biggest excuse was "well I'm a mom, I need to rest, I'm so tired". If you're a parent, let's face it, we're going to be tired for the next 18 years or so! So that's really not an excuse anymore. I know you can find 30 minutes for yourself. Wake up before you kids do, or while they're at school get your workout in, or while they're napping. Ask your spouse to take over for 30 minutes and focus on you girl! Now that is about to get cooler we're all going to start using the excuse "it's too cold"! Might as well throw that excuse out the door. I workout at home and of course we have the heater on so I just need to suck it up, get out of my cozy bed & do the dang thing!
  2. CHANGE YOUR MINDSET: I'm at a point in my fitness & health journey where I'm no longer "dieting", I'm living a healthy lifestyle. Stop using the word "diet", tell yourself, "I want to live a healthier lifestyle, I want to give my body all the good & healthy foods." Trust me when I tell you that when you change your mindset, it's easier to stick true to your journey!
  3. SWITCH THINGS UP: Every, maybe 3 months, I'm changing my fitness routine. I get bored easily! So when I got back on track this time around, I knew I needed to switch things up. Instead of working one muscle group a day, I'm now doing a full body workout everyday. I don't over do it because I don't want to wear my body out. But my body has been responding well to it! And I'm not bored yet soo lol Find exercises that you love!
  4. MEAL PREP: Okay so I personally can't meal prep for more than 3 days because like I just said, I get bored. So when I do meal prep I only do it for a few days. BUT I do like to take a day out of the week and chop up my veggies that I will be using. For example I love onion & jalapenos with my eggs, so I go ahead and chop them up and put them in a container, so when I'm ready to make my eggs I don't have to dread chopping! lol Because truthfully I hate chopping lol Also my sweet potatoes, you can go ahead and dice them up or cook them and just store them in the fridge. Just little things that YOU know will make healthy eating easier.
  5. TAKE MONTHLY PHOTOS: If you've been following me for a while you know I always mention this tip, because I think it's so important and it motivates the heck out of you to see YOUR own PROGRESS! So take monthly pictures to see where your at, where you need to improve & such! I don't take mine weekly, I think it's too much, and well some weeks your bloated and that'll just play with your mind!

So that's it for my 5 tips! I hope you guys enjoyed this and really hope you incorporate them into your journey! I promise you the hardest part is STARTING! And if you get off track, DON'T GIVE UP! Thank you so much for stopping by & for continuing to support my blog, it means the world to me!

See y'all Wednesday!

TARGET TRY ON! 🍁

Friday, October 25, 2019

OUTFIT DETAILS: VELVET CAMI $20 (S)

Happy Friday friends!

I am up pretty early today, finally! I have been struggling to wake up early y'all! I get so much done when I wake up around 5ish! By the time Julian wakes up this mama has already finished this blog post, sipped on her first cup of coffee, worked out, & showered! WINNING!

We're suppose to be taking Julian to a trick or treat even at the park and I'm so excited about it! He's going to be Captain America this year, it was that or the Hulk. We literally spent about 10 min or more at Walmart waiting for him to decide! haha

But today I am back with another Target Try On! These types of blog posts seem to be y'alls favorite & quite frankly they're my favorite too! I love trying on clothes!

Okay so starting off with this "Happy" sweatshirt (available here) the actual wording is leopard so you know I couldn't pass it up! I tried on a small but I think a medium would have more of a loose, oversized fit! & it's only $20!

These jeans (available here) were such a great find! They are high waist, not too stretchy but they have a stretch, if that makes any sense haha! I tried on a size 0, I'm usually a size 0 or 1, but I could've gone down to a 00. I also love the wash! On that note are you more of a light or dark wash type of girl? I love my dark wash denim for sure!

I am OBSESSED with these booties (available here), they are the perfect color & height!

I don't think I need to say much about this cardigan (available here) it's stunning! I've never tried on a cardigan like this! I'm wearing a small but it still has a slight oversized fit to it! & y'all it's so dang cozy!! If you happen to stop by Target (I'm sure you will 😉) try it on!

I have this tee (available here) in a camo & grey color! So I wanted to pick up a more "fall appropriate" color! Right now they're on sale! You can get 2 for $14! So snag this one & the camo one up girlfriend! I wear mine all the time! If you don't believe me, check out my Instagram feed lol

Okay if you read one of my previous posts you know I mentioned that I wasn't really into leather moto jackets anymore, BUT y'all! This one (available here) completely changed my mind! I love the fit of it and it's not too stiff! I'm wearing a size XS. The small fit great too but the arms were too long lol

This velvet cami (available here) is GORGEOUS! Only $20 and is perfect for the Holidays coming up! I think it's such a great & versatile piece! I threw the same leather jacket over it and holy guacamole I love how it looks!

That is it for my quick Target Try On! I hope y'all enjoyed!

Thank you so much for stopping by & for continuing to support my blog! & also a HUGE thank you for shopping through my links!

Happy Weekend girlfriends!

LOWER BODY WORKOUT

Monday, October 21, 2019

Happy Monday friends!

I hope you all have had a wonderful day so far!

We went to a friends house last night, we didn't get home till about 11 and I went to bed at midnight. Y'all I slept in till about 10am! I can't hang! Lol Neither can Julian! He is usually an early bird no matter what we do the night before but he was exhausted too! But it felt great to sleep in!

Since I started working out again almost a month ago, I have been doing a full body workout every day. If you read my WORKOUT ROUTINE than you already knew. But anyway, I have noticed my lower body toning up real nice! Not to toot my own horn haha. I switch things up and sometimes I'll use a resistance band, go up in weights or just use my body weight.

So for today's post I wanted to share one of the many workouts I've been doing. I do about 10 reps on each side and repeat the whole workout for a total of 3 rounds.

Now lemme tell ya, my legs were on fire!

I hope y'all enjoy! & if you give this workout a try let me know how you liked it!

WORKOUT ROUTINE - (MONDAY)

Tuesday, October 15, 2019

Happy Monday friends!

Today has definitely felt like a Monday. I woke up super late and am so behind on everything. I am now just eating dinner!

But for today I wanted to kinda take you guys along and show you what today's workout consisted of. Start to finish.

Monday's I either work my butt off or keep it easy. It just depends on how I feel lol Tuesday, Wednesdays & Thursdays I usually push myself to the limit, well kinda off! haha

I hope the way I set this post up makes some sense! I feel like these types of posts would be so much better in video form lol but for now this will have to do. Hope y'all enjoy!

Okay so for the past couple of weeks I have been running before all my workouts. I usually run for only 15 minutes. Sometimes I have a running buddy! lol Running is something that I truly enjoy so I try to do it as much as I can. For now I have been taking the weekends off and letting my body rest.
So after my 15 min run I go ahead and do my ab workout. I usually do 3 exercises, 30-40 seconds each & repeat for a total of 3 rounds.

Now moving onto arms! I have slowly but surely started to like working out my arms! Definitely one of the body parts that I have neglected! But I do 10-12 reps of each exercise and repeating for a total of 3 rounds as well.

I don't know about anyone else but lower body is my favorite! I mean who doesn't want a good perky booty am I right! haha After arms I finish off with lower body! Same thing as before do about 10-15 reps of each exercise and repeat the whole workout for a total of 3 rounds.

And then of course finish the whole workout by stretching!

-
-

So that is my full workout routine! Or at least the basics of it. Every day I do different exercises but I still workout abs, arms & lower body every day. I only do 3 exercises of each that way I'm not pushing my body too hard. Work out at your own pace. Before this routine I was working out each body part a different day of the week. And I tend to get bored, so I switched it up to this and have been enjoying it so much! I feel like my body is also responding well to it.

Thank you so much for stopping by & for continuing to support my blog! It truly means the world to me!

RAINY DAY COZY OUTFIT

Friday, October 11, 2019

OUTFIT DETAILS: LEOPARD LONG SLEEVE (S) / PLUSH VEST (XS) / SIMILAR LEGGINGS (S) / RAIN BOOTS (SOLD OUT)

Happy Friday friends!

Texas FINALLY got a real cold front! And I am here for it! It was also raining so it made for the perfect lazy Friday! Of course with a four year old there's no such thing as being lazy haha. We just finished making some yummy (super sweet) rice krispie treats! We've been making Halloween snacks every Friday and he ENJOYS it so much!

Of course I already had this outfit planned out. I wanted to snap of few pics on a day that it was actually raining so here we are. Huge shout out to the hubby for helping me out!

I was looking through my Instagram feed (follow me here) and realized I have been posting a lot of leopard lately. Can you blame me though? It's my favorite print! This $8 long sleeve is one of my favorite Walmart finds! So many ways to style it and of course so dang cozy!

I don't think I've talked about this vest on my blog too much, but y'all it's only $10 and comes in a couple of other colors! 1000% recommend it! It keeps you warm and the perfect Fall & Winter item! The material is also so soft! Go snag one up!

I've had these leggings for years now, they're sold out but I'm linking a similar pair that I also have and are a fave! They are a little more on the pricey side (my opinion) but totally worth every penny. I have washed them multiple times and they haven't lost their color!

My rain boots are from Walmart (in store only) and I think they were $22! These are my first pair of rain boots and I like them. I love that they're a shiny black not just like a dull matte black! Lol Of course if they had a leopard print I'd snag those up instead but these are good too! I'm linking a similar pair HERE from Academy $20.

That's it for today's rainy day outfit! I hope y'all enjoyed this post and that you're enjoying this weather! Thank you so much for stopping by & for continuing to support my blog!

WALMART TRY ON

Wednesday, October 9, 2019

OUTFIT DETAILS:RIBBED LONG SLEEVE (M) **IN STORE ONLY** / PLAID CARDIGAN (SM)

OUTFIT DETAILS: TIME & TRU HACCI TUNIC (S) **IN STORE ONLY**

Happy Wednesday friends!

We are back to 90 degree weather but I'm not complaining (too much) because it'll cool down again soon! Texas has been home for a little over 3 years and honey I am freezing in 70 degree weather! haha I don't think I would survive a North Carolina Winter!

After I dropped Julian off at school I headed to Walmart for a little try on! I only found a few things and sadly majority of them aren't sold online yet! That's the thing with Walmart, I love their stuff but they need to get it together when it comes to making them available online!

Everything I'm sharing is under $25!

Okay starting off with the first item! I shared a similar pullover a few posts back BUT this one hands down is my favorite! Its $19 and it's so dang cozy & super warm! I tried on a XS and fit great! I feel like a SM would've been to bulky on me.

This ribbed long sleeve is only available in store, it's a great basic piece and would also be perfect for layering! Only $8! I fell in love with this plaid cardigan! $22 and omg I just love it so much! The only down side is y'all know I'm so short so I was hesitant on bringing it home with me because of the length. But what do y'all think? I love it, I'm just unsure about the length! Let me know in the comments!

Another item I fell in love with! This sweater is perfect for Fall! You can style it several ways & its under $15! It has great length so great for leggings! Would also be so cute for "casual" Fall family photos!

Like I mentioned a million times already I'm so short! Lol So 99% of the time I have to roll up my jeans or pants. But not with these! First of all let's talk about the color! STUNNNG!!! It's the perfect pair of "work wear" pants! They're high waist (always a plus) and fit me so dang good! Not to toot my own horn. They come down to my ankles so if you're petite like me, go try them on girlfriend! I think they come in a few other colors as well!

Lastly this top is also and In store purchase only. This is another great basic piece. Great for leggings and just your typical "running errands" outfit!

I hope y'all enjoyed this mini Walmart Try On!

Thank you so much for stopping by & for continuing to support my blog! And also thank you for shopping through my links, it helps me out so much! So grateful for y'all!

SOFTEST LEOPARD SWEATER // COZY + AFFORDABLE FALL OUTFIT

Friday, October 4, 2019

Happy Friday friends!

We just made some yummy Halloween cookies and now we're going to lay our booties on the couch and watch some scary movies! What are you doing tonight? Staying in or going out?

I'm so excited to share this outfit with y'all because it's. so. dang. affordable! The whole outfit is under $45! Insane I know!

Okay so starting off with this cozy leopard sweater! Only $10 y'all! It's available online so get your hands on it! I went up to a medium to add more length to it. Softest thing ever! I'm not even exaggerating (maybe a bit). Also comes in a few other colors but y'all know me.

I've shared these jeans before! Under $20 and comes in a few other washes. Mine is the "medium tint". They are high waist so that's always a plus and like I mentioned in my other post I love that they're not too distressed!

These slip ons are my favorite! I bought them last year and they've held up so well. And they've been through some things, living on a ranch has it's cons! haha The black is just about sold out but other colors are available here. They do have this black pair available only difference is that they are a "quilted" style.

I told y'all this outfit is super affordable.

I hope y'all enjoyed this post! And like always thank you so much for stopping by & continuing to support my blog! If you shop through my links a HUGE THANK YOU!

I hope y'all have a wonderful weekend.

Wednesday, October 2, 2019

Happy Wednesday friends!

I took a quick trip to Target yesterday and found a few pieces I wanted to share with y'all! And you know it was really a "quick" trip because I only have 5 things to share! haha

Target always has great and affordable cardigans! So if you're looking for some be sure to check them out! Also before I get into the clothes, they had some great Halloween things in the dollar section! I snagged a Halloween plate for Julian for only $1 & a decorative pumpkin for $3!

Okay so this first cardigan is perfect to wear right now! It's light weight and the rust color is gorgeous! And only $23, such a steal. I love this leopard tank! Okay I love anything leopard. It has adjustable straps and a great length. As you can see it pairs well with just about anything too.

Up next is this olive cardigan! This one is a bit thicker so perfect for the cooler Fall days, you can even wear it into Winter! It comes in a few other colors and only $25! I went with a small and it fits perfectly. Definitely true to size.

Clearly we also love anything in the color Olive! This button down shirt is so dang soft y'all! Perfect for layering! It comes in a couple of other colors. The grey one (available here) is currently on sale for $14, I got mine in store for only $10! (insert high five)

Told y'all it was quick! haha
