Happy Wednesday friends!
I recently got my hair done, well more like retouched, so I thought what a perfect time to share an updated hair routine! In this post I'll be covering how I try to maintain my hair color and keep it as healthy as I can.
My hair is a blonde balayage with a money piece in the front, which is fancy for "the two pieces in front that frame my face". I've had my hair like this for about 9 months and I love it. I feel like it's not that high maintenance, I can typically go 10-12 weeks without getting it retouched. And I have just enough blonde that makes me happy lol
I've had blonde in my hair for over two years and you would think my hair is fried by now, but it's not THAT bad! I like to think that my routine has a lot to do with it.
I wash my hair 2-3 times a week during the Fall & Winter months. During the Spring & Summer, I typically have to wash it 4 times a week because I get so sweaty.
I've mentioned this before, but I use to suffer from dandruff, I started using this shampoo and it has been a game changer for my hair! It was recommended by one of my followers about a year ago and I've been using it ever since. I use either the Rehab or Borago hair mask once a week. It leaves my hair so soft and shiny, not an oily shiny but a good healthy shiny! I also use this purple mask every 2 weeks to brighten up my color.
Majority of the time I let my hair air dry, which in my opinion, is what has helped my hair the most! Once I step out of the shower, I wrap my hair in one of the these towels for about 5-10 minutes. I then apply some volumizing mousse , I love using this because it helps give my hair some volume without having to go in with a round brush and blow dryer!
I also always use a heat protectant, this is my favorite one, whether I'm blow drying or touching up my curls. The Le Duo, is my favorite hair tool! My hair just glides through the plates! And finally I always finish off with this shine spray, again adds a little extra shine and smells phenomenal! In between washes, I use this dry shampoo, it's a little pricey but so worth it!
And just a little FYI, some days my hair really should be washed lol but I get lazy, and on those days, aside from lots of dry shampoo, I'll put it in a pony, bun or braid. I've had shoulder length hair and almost to my butt hair and I can tell you that the less heat you use on it the better!
